my story
About Me
Art and design have long been part of my life. You could usually find me with paper and pens, drawing anything that was in my mind at that time. Following a bout of postnatal depression after the birth of my gorgeous son, I found that turning my barren garden into something beautiful was symbolic of my journey through depression. As I gradually plucked away at the weeds and replaced them with beautiful flowers, I found myself developing a much healthier sense of well being. It made me feel whole again.
This turned into a huge passion and has developed into a fantastic career for me. I have helped clients develop their dream gardens across not only the West Midlands but now much further afield. I was thrilled to win a number of awards at the BBC Gardeners World Live events, as well as being asked to design the House Plant Hub for them in 2023.
One of my ultimate aims has been to design and build a show garden, ultimately at Chelsea but that may be a future project. This year, at the same time as working with my existing clients across the country, I am really excited to have been asked to build a show garden at the RHS Malvern Show in May – very exciting times.
I “discovered” social media and have found a band of great people who support one another and learn from each other too. I am keen to pass on tips and advice to other gardeners across the world and think it is great to learn the experiences of others from different climates and passions. My Process
How it works
1
Discovery
To begin, I’ll visit you and your garden to get a feel for the space and your tastes. I’ll then measure everything up and we’ll discuss some initial ideas and concepts.
2
Brief
Next, we’ll create an brief for your project. With this, I’ll then quote for a few different options at different price points so you can choose the right design for you and your budget.
3
Design
Following the initial discovery period and measurement, I’ll begin by sketching out early concept ideas, drawing up outline plans and selecting various plant combinations.
4
Refinement
With early concepts in place, we’ll work together to review and refine the final designs to suit your taste and budget.
5
Site Preparation
To bring your garden to life, we must first prepare the blank canvas. This stage involves de-weeding and removing plant waste and rubble.
6
Construction
I’ll work directly with your chosen hard landscapers to interpret designs and prepare the site for planting and installation.
7
Sourcing
Many seasonal plants are hard or impossible to find when out-of-season – I can help source the right plants for you.
8
Installation
With all plants, decorative items and materials available, I’ll get to work installing it all. Finally your dream garden begins to come to life!
9
Staging
Little touches add up and make for a big impact. That’s why the last step is to snag for the last remaining tweaks, leaving your garden looking the most perfect it ever has.
10
Handover
Finally, I’ll provide you with detailed after-care instructions to help keep your beautiful garden looking its best over time.

💥 Edging, but make it easy. 💥
What you saying about this good edging and my potential new seating area?? Just fyi Neil doesn’t want the gravel to go under the seats because he knows he’s gotta do the graft…😂 be on my side please 🙌🏻💜 let me know in the comments….
We used Datum edging from @core_lp and it’s honestly a dream — simple, slick, and clicks together like a pro system (because it is).
Did I help? You bet.
💪 Excellent digging ✅
🪨 Rock removal ✅
👦 Calling in the cavalry (my son) when the boulders got ridiculous ✅
🙏🏻holding things together and making brews! ✅
Seriously… why are there always rocks exactly where you need to dig?! WHY!?
Neil tackled the bulk of the install (because it’s not a shiny job), but teamwork got it done! Steel edging and Pegs in, screws and bolts locked — bish bash bosh. This edging is already weathers because it features in my @the_rhs show garden and we love to reuse products where possible!
Next up: Grass Gains seed & feed when the heat eases off — time to turn this patch into a proper lush lawn 🌱
📣 Got a garden project coming up? Don’t skip the prep — good edges make great finishes.

“The purpose of life?
To dream so big it unsettles others—
but feels like destiny to you.”
So do the thing that scares you.
Plant the impossible.
Design the thing no one understands—yet.
Keep going when it’s hard.
Keep showing up when no one’s watching.
Because this is where purpose lives—
In the patience.
In the process.
In the quiet belief that you were made for this.
Let them doubt you.
Let them talk.
You’ll find clarity, courage, and your kind of people along the way.

Meet Albizia julibrissin — the tree that walks in wearing tropical vibes but never misses the British weather memo.
🌞 Yes, it grows in the UK
🧊 Frost? No biggie. Just wrap young trees their first couple of winters
💧 Drainage is a must — soggy roots = sad tree
🏡 Loves sun + shelter = instant garden drama
🍃 Don’t worry if she’s late to leaf in spring, she’s always fashionably late.
Want a more hardy tropical tree? Try Cercis ‘Forest Pansy’ for rich purple foliage, or Arbutus unedo (the Strawberry Tree) for all-year wow.

There’s something magic about watching roots unfurl in water—especially from a single begonia leaf. 🌱
All it takes is a little patience, one leaf, and a little TLC (plus some indirect light and a clean jar, obvs).
🪴 Tips for banging begonia props :
1. Use a clean, sharp blade to take your cutting—or just cut below a node, along a main vein if leaf-propping. Or a single leaf and stem of water propagating
2. Keep leaves dry—don’t let them sit in water or they’ll rot. Submerge just the stem or the cut base.
3. Bright, indirect light is your best friend—too much sun will scorch it.
4. Change the water weekly to avoid funky smells or mould.
5. When roots are 2–3 inches long, pot it up in free-draining soil. Hello, new plant baby!
🌿 Remember: even the smallest cutting can grow into something lush.
Just like you. 💜
